Introducing the inclusive luxury of possibility at sea

Time was, when cruise liners were strewn with barriers that made life at sea extremely challenging for anyone with reduced mobility or additional sensory or cognitive requirements. But not anymore. Those ships have sailed. Today’s new-generation vessels are essentially barrier-free offering every passenger the opportunity to enjoy and experience an almost endless variety of dining, activity, relaxation, entertainment and discovery – onboard and ashore.

Add to this, the pleasure of visiting multiple destinations but unpacking just once, paying one holiday price and enjoying so much value, a selection of cruise lines and vessels to suit families, friends, sun-seekers, adventurers and intrepid seven-seas wanderers and expeditioners, and it is easy to understand why a cruise holiday is increasingly recognised as the perfect choice for millions of disabled people across the globe.

And with an ever growing selections of stunningly beautiful cruise ships offering spacious, fully accessible cabins and suites, plying the seven seas in the fine style, it’s perhaps not surprising that we have long been passionate advocates of this style of travel and indeed recognised by the cruise industry as champions of inclusivity in the luxury and ultra-luxe cruise market. So, whether new to cruise or salty sea hands the Inclusive Luxury Cruise team ensures our clients are matched with the perfect ship, itinerary and indeed everything they may ever need for the perfect cruise holiday – including flights, accessible transfers and shore excursions and if required mobility equipment and aids.

Verified by IncluCare
Gateway to the most exciting emerging market in decades

In awarding IncluCare Winner of their ‘Bright Ideas in Travel Award 2022’, Condé Nast Traveler stated that “IncluCARE goes beyond a narrow focus on the accessibility of the built environment to ensure the full destination is inclusive to people with both visible and hidden disabilities.”

We certainly do, but there is more that sets IncluCare apart from anything that has come before. IncluCare is designed for the luxury travel industry by experts in the luxury travel industry. Evolutionary and cultural. Effective, truly transformational and shifting the ‘why’ to the ‘how’, we are with you all the way; planning, directing, educating and supporting you for the entire, rewarding, journey to ‘Conscious Guest Inclusivity’ excellence, your coveted Verified by IncluCare status and a brand distinctive advantage to realise the unique potential of what is almost certainly the last major untapped market in travel and hospitality.

Is there a market?

IncluCare is not the pursuit of niche. On the contrary, it is potentially the most important positive strategic investment in understanding, positioning and distinctiveness your organise could make this decade. An acquisition that that can equip any organisation to embrace and realise the full potential of what is almost certainly the last major untapped market (one in six of the world’s population is disabled) – a global community consisting of many millions of people who possess the ambition, time, financial resources (estimated at $13 trillion each year) and aspiration to experience the finest of everything that travel, hospitality, leisure and lifestyle industries have to offer, but lack confidence and trust to do so.

IncluCare will, in an incredibly competitive environment, allow you to manifest that trust and confidence and distinguish you as leaders of customer inclusivity excellence in luxury, attracting and welcoming a totally new and loyal client following, who would otherwise simply stay at home. That is both morally unjust and commercially, a huge, missed opportunity.

For all hotels and lodging?

Absolutely, whatever the heritage, footprint, location or architecture of a property, it is completely possible to become and be seen as a genuinely accessible and inclusive destination.

This does not mean being ‘barrier-free’, that’s rarely possible for any hotel, but rather a shift-shape in thinking that views genuine guest inclusivity as 20% facility and 80% service, sensitivity and personalisation. A completely achievable outcome for a sector for whom impeccable attention to detail and obsession with guest satisfaction is already a given.

Authentic guest inclusivity is simply a new, powerful and brand-distinctive

How will you measure success?

We can think of few examples of such strategic cause and effect across any commercial landscape today.

Clearly and directly attributable and measurable ROI from the practices, processes and adjustments adopted during your Verified by IncluCare journey will become clear as guests who would never have have come to stay until you made visible your new provision, begin to arrive.

Inclusivity in Luxury Hospitality and Travel Consulting

Created by our team of academic, travel, tech and training experts, Inclu Consulting is the strategy, education, marketing and universal design arm of Inclu Group.

The Inclusive Imperative

Many organisations are familiar with and have adopted Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) policies, practices and procedures. These are primarily workforce-focussed. But few service providers in hospitality and travel have recognised or considered their obligation to address equality of experience for their guests – what we have defined as ‘Conscious Inclusivity’ (CI) and the life-blood of any business.

The value of Conscious Inclusivity

Whilst DEI and CI are essential for any organisation to be able to claim a fully formed ESG, they are distinct from one another in terms of form, application and critically, outcomes. For unlike DEI, adopters of CI are effecting dramatic impacts on the actual guest experience and reaping their rewards in terms of brand new custom, dramatically elevated levels of guest satisfaction and gratitude and, perhaps most attractively from a commercial perspective – significant and attributable-gain. For unlike investments in sustainability and DEI, there is a direct correlation between the actions you have taken and measurable ROI.

Inclusive by design – introducing Inclu Studio

Historically, the vast majority of the built environment, the very foundations and fabric of our hotels, resorts, restaurants, bars and event spaces have given at best a cursory nod to extreme functionality – the recognition that if we design for those with the most complex of requirement, absolutely every guest and service user will benefit.

It has been this failure to design for functionality and style, in equal measure, that has created a burgeoning global inventory of adapted bedrooms, bathrooms and other facilities that are neither attractive nor functionally optimal. A potential annual revenue value for hospitality, of billions of dollars often regarded as ‘inferior stock’, hidden from view, and in in contrast to every other accommodation type in a property, made difficult to find and book. That is not only commercially remiss but potentially discriminatory under equality legislations.

What is the Inclu Studio view?

It is that inclusive design can be completely beautiful as well supremely functional. Not only in the fixed, physical environment but in the look, feel and usability of amenities such as bathrooms, furniture, fashion, swimming pools, F&B and event spaces. In the way we present information – our websites, social media and marketing. In fact, every aspect of a guest or users experience with your organisation, property or service.

Who are these designers and creatives?

They are a rare and precious community of talent pool, and we are privileged to partner with the best. Depending on the project and requirement, we can draw on world-class architects and designers who work exclusively to Universal Design principles.

What should you do next?

Don’t even think about signing off on new-build or renovation plans until you have spoken with us. Just that one action could ensure this is a project that gets it right from the get-go. Is designed to be experienced by the entire spectrum of user diversity, removing barriers to more custom on the drawing board and not through second-best and always more disruptive solutions and costly remedial work down the line.

Now that has to be worth a call…

Inclu Academy
Motivation, education and support from IncluCare
IncluCare Academy courses

Unique and empowering knowledge and skill acquisition for the next dynamic revolution in luxury hospitality and travel

Formulated and crafted by world-leading experts in this field, Inclu Academy is a unique seat of learning designed to educate, empower and equip key supply and sales stakeholders of luxury hospitality and travel, to realise the full potential of what is almost certainly the most significant new-market opportunity our industry has seen in decades.

Motivation, Education & Support

Motivation

Motivation will be the spark that ignites the touch paper of inclusion- revolution within the industries of luxury hospitality and travel. And it’s not hard to find. Published studies show that the global population of 1.3 billion disabled people and their households are custodians of $13 trillion annual spending power. That disabled guests are more likely to be fiercely loyal customers, stay longer, spend more and tell 10 times the amount of people than their non-disabled counterparts of service excellence – as it currently so hard to find.

But Motivation alone, is not enough.

Education

Motivated, with the launch of Inclu Academy, stakeholders of luxury hospitality and travel now have access to a unique seat of learning curated to educate, empower and equip through a tailored business and role-specific portfolio of awareness and training to establish a fundamental understanding of what defines and contrasts accessibility and inclusivity, enlightens to neutralise the misconceptions that can lead to fear of doing the wrong thing and crucially confidence and sensitivity to attract and service a completely new community of disabled customers and those who will travel with them if only they have trust in us to do so.

But Motivation and Education alone are not enough.

Application & Support

Motivated and educated to a level that facilitates entry into an arena without equivalence in its scale of opportunity, supply chain members of the global ecosystem of luxury hospitality and travel – especially hospitality, IC’s & Travel Designers, will require one additional and absolutely critical component in order to transform this newly acquired knowledge and understanding into practical application, new business and fiercely loyal customers – OPERATIONAL SUPPORT.

And it is the exclusive accessibility and inclusivity-specific mentoring and assistance from the Inclu Helpdesk and Support Team that sets us apart from any other organisation in hospitality and travel.

It is what, uniquely, will empower and equip stakeholders serious about transforming the landscape of opportunity and rekindling oft-abandoned ambitions and aspirations for disabled people and those who will travel with them, to convert even the most complex enquiry into life-changing experience, discovery and adventure, whatever a client’s physical, mobility, sensory, neuro-divergent – visible or non-visible, requirement may be.
